Grocery list template
A blank grocery list grouped by aisle rather than by the order things occurred to you, with a short pantry-check strip at the top so you stop buying the third jar of paprika. Print it, or save it as a PDF and fill it in on a phone.
Or press Ctrl+P (⌘P on a Mac) and choose “Save as PDF”.

How to use it
The categories are in store-walk order on purpose. A list written in the order things came to mind sends you back across the shop three times, and every extra lap past the end caps is where the unplanned items get picked up. Produce first, frozen second-to-last so it spends the least time out of the freezer, household goods at the end because they are bulky and you want them on top of the cart, not under the eggs.
Fill the pantry-check strip before the list, not after. Four lines is deliberately not enough room for an inventory — it is enough for the four things you are about to buy a duplicate of. Spices, oil, rice, tinned tomatoes: the items that are always half-full and never quite finished. Write down what you already have, then cross those lines off the shopping list below.
Write quantities, not just names. "Chicken" becomes a guess at the counter; "chicken thighs, 1 kg" does not. If you plan meals first, note which meal a line is for in the margin — when something is out of stock you then know what you are actually replacing, rather than staring at a word.
One sheet is one shopping trip. If you shop twice a week, print two and date them; a list that carries over accumulates items you no longer want and stops being trustworthy, which is how people go back to shopping from memory.
FAQ
Is this grocery list template really free?
Yes. There is no email gate, no account and no download that asks for anything — the list is on this page, and the print button hands it to your printer or to "Save as PDF". We are building a nutrition and meal planning app and the waitlist is open, but nothing on this page depends on joining it.
How do I save it as a PDF instead of printing it?
Press the print button (or Ctrl+P, ⌘P on a Mac) and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination instead of a printer. Every current browser on desktop offers it, and iOS and Android both offer "Print" → "Save as PDF" from the share sheet.
Can I change the categories?
Not on the printed sheet — it is a fixed blank, which is the point of a printable. The last category is deliberately labelled "Household & other" so anything that does not fit the aisles above has somewhere to go, and most stores map onto these eight groups closely enough that the walk still works.
What size paper does it print on?
It fits A4 and US Letter without changes — the layout is set in percentages rather than fixed millimetres, so the columns stretch to whatever paper the print dialog is set to. Leave scaling at 100%.
